Swaddling a NewBorn Baby
I remember swaddling Josiah for not many days, and when visitors came to visit in his first month, many asked why I just left him ‘open’ like that as he would startle and stir from sleep so easily. With Jordan, I decided I was going to swaddle from birth, however I needed a really easy to use and good swaddle. With Josiah, I gave up swaddling because I was using the Bumblebee velcro wrap type and it was too thick after wrapping, (3 layers) and Josiah broke free so easily. It was such a hassle to rewrap dozens of times a night. So this time, I came upon the Woombie.…

Jordan at 2 Months
A couple of days ago, I came back to work. So quickly, 2 months had passed and it so happened to be Jordan’s 2 month checkup as well. Jordan is now 6.3kg, 3 kg heavier than his birth weight and stood at 58cm. At 2 months, Jordan still sleeps a lot. He wakes in the morning around 7.30am, I’ll nurse him and let him sit around in the bouncer. Hospitalised for Acute Bronchiolitis
Last Sunday morning, Jordan started developing flu and cough most probably passed on from Josiah who had it for a while. After asking a few people, they discouraged from visiting a doctor since Jordan is only 1.5 months old and there aren’t any meds for a sick infant. So we waited out until Day 3, but his cough only got worse, and it was getting abnormal where he would cough uncontrollably continuously and his breathing was really short. On Tues afternoon, Jessy made a visit and told me she could hear him wheezing. She was pretty concerned and that caused me to be extra concerned about it, and John also…

10 things I didn’t know until my 2nd child
I thought I’d learned everything about a newborn with my first child until I had my 2nd child and I realised there were still things I didn’t know about. How humbling, here are 10 things I learned these 6 weeks. 1) breast milk can be used as eye drops: at a few days old, Jordan had some green discharge in his eyes. My CL said he was heaty due to phototherapy, but I later found out it was due to his tear duds not completely formed and the green stuffs being tears that are stuck and cause infection. The best way was to use a drop of breast milk into…
