The little people under the stairs (and on the screen)
It’s been a while now since this film came out, but it’s so lovely, that I thought I’d spend a little bit of time on it. The film in question is Arietty, from the legendary Studio Ghibli. Although it came out in 2010, it is a slice of pure sunshine that should not be forgotten. Arriety is the first film to be directed by star Ghibli animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who had previously worked on favourites such as Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away. Panasonic True Beauty Launch
Last Friday, BlupBlup invited me to the Panasonic True Beauty Launch which was held in Vertigo, Gardens. Media people can’t do things while hungry so we were also invited to eat to our heart’s content at The Spread, Gardens Hotel. Heady with food, we headed to the glitzy launch event at Vertigo and were pleasantly presented with the goodie bag. Did you know that the Putrajaya Flower & Garden Festival 2011 or Floria 2011 is back again? We saw the last one in 2010, and this year, the new theme is Roses are Forever. Today’s Star paper talked about how the Underworld gang is now recruiting members especially teenagers through Facebook. This is quite an alarming story for parents with teenagers, since nearly all of these kids are on Facebook. Most of the time, these gangs entice kids with the promise of protection, when they need help against someone who’s bugging them etc. Kids being kids might find this kind of connection to a gang dangerously exhilarating.
