Let’s Build a Band with the MPO!
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will present its ever popular Family Fun Day series with two shows on Saturday, 13 May 2018 at 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. Together with conductor/presenter Kevin Hathway, the MPO, an ensemble of bowed strings, brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, will engage the audience to ‘build a band’ via an exciting programme; the light and bouncy Anderson’s Fiddle Faddle highlights the brilliance of the string instruments, Rutter’s Suite Lyrique demonstrates the different moods and amazing soundscapes, ragged Botsford’s Black And White Rag calls for a great dexterity from the pianist, and Abreu’s exotic Tico-Tico emulates the image of a…

MUSIC, FOOD, FUN VIBES AT SUNWAY LAGOON
Sunway Lagoon’s Surf Beach welcomed guests to its first Earth Hour Blackout Fest – in conjunction with the global Earth Hour initiative by encouraging guests to switch off non-essentials for an hour to conserve energy. The night’s celebrations went beyond merely turning lights off for a memorable night of entertainment and togetherness. The blackout event kicked off on a high note with life-sized board games such as the 4-D Twister and Giant Jenga, water activities including the FlowRider, and exciting Dome Bouncy House and Gladiator Challenge inflatables. BEACONHOUSE FOSTERS COMRADESHIP IN SPORTS & CULTURAL MEET HELD IN OMAN
Already in its third instalment, Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC 2018) was recently held in Muscat, Oman this year with a participation of around 200 students from five countries – Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, and Thailand. Leading up to the main event, thousands of students competed in their home countries in order to make it to the elite team that was sent to represent their nations. MPO PRESENTS EUGENE ONEGIN & RUSSIAN BELLS AT DEWAN FILHARMONIK PETRONAS
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) proudly presents two masterpieces by two of Russia’s most famous composers that are seldom heard at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP). Both works trace a course from happy carefree days of youth to despair and mourning. The concerts are scheduled on Saturday, 3 March 2018 at 8.30 pm and Sunday, 4 March 2018 at 3.00 pm. First up is excerpts from Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky’s fifth completed opera and remains his best known.
