What is #GREEN24 with AirAsia?

I have always been all about protecting the environment that for years I do not use plastic bags and I recycle all my trash. As some of you may know, the earth’s climate is going through some drastic changes, sometimes some places are not just getting warmer, some are even getting colder, like the 16 degrees in Bangkok now. The climate has become unpredictable and it can be rather scary sometimes. In Malaysia, we might be safe from extreme seasons but still we get terrible floods and storms or droughts that really affects people’s lives.

It is so timely that now AirAsia is running the Green24 campaign to educate people about how to protect the Earth and the little actions that we do daily that can contribute to a better environment. This is part of the  airline’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative throughout the Asean region. Through this campaign, AirAsia hope to create a new mentality of how to act be it at home, in the office, in community places etc. doing things that we know can affect Mother Nature. Even in my organisation last year, we did a full on Gotong Royong to clean up the town of Kajang. There are so many things we can do as an individual and also as a group.

The main activities of #GREEN24 will be carried out from 29th to 30th January 2016 throughout all the countries which the AirAsia Group serves,

The initial activity held in November 2015 saw over 150 volunteers from across the AirAsia Group and Tune Group of companies come together to clean the Kanching Rainforest Waterfall in Rawang. Nearly 600kgs of garbage was collected in a short duration of 90 minutes during this waterfall cleanup activity.
