A long time ago, I submitted some of the photos I took at home to this baby contest organised by Ayam Brand. But no news..until I decided to submit again using the photos taken by Mr Yiau. I submitted a total of 4 pics! It’s quite easy to take part, just send a 4R pic together with a receipt for an Ayam Brand product. So we shopped at Tesco and bought my favourite tuna and salmon spread and ask the cashier to split it to 4 receipts.
So last last week, I got a letter from the studio, De One. In it it was saying that Josiah was shortlisted for the grand finals, and we have to proceed to the studio to take photos with their costumes. Hhm I was a bit apprehensive, as the costumes involve wearing something on the head, and he hates that. Wondered then how it’d go.
So on 24 Oct we made our way to the studio, all the way in Desa Sri Hartamas.
Once we got there, we had to wait for a while, while they got the ‘props’ ready and we had chosen our costume. We went for purple carrot, though it’s girlish, well, coz I like purple. And the other costumes are brown, so dull.
The studio office is so colourful and full of ‘deco’. Very ‘luan’. 😛
There is a children play area, and as we waited, John entertained himself and Josiah.
After selecting the photos and avoiding the usual upselling, we paid RM88 for the agreed 3 photos, and the rest of the fee goes to the studio for submitting our 8R photo. I guess being ‘sponsor’ also has its benefits.
So we were asked to wait 2 weeks for the photos to be developed, but it only took one week, and we got them yesterday.
We chose this photo.
I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the photoshoot, becoz Josiah was pretty distracted with the costume, the hat, the props, and many people around, so he was not smiling much and being himself. Plus, he already can crawl, and he keep wanted to crawl towards some ‘interesting’ props around there. But mostly he was just throwing off the hat and having that smirk on the face. Though overall it was a fun experience. Hopefully, he’ll get something.
On another note, we were so pleasantly surprised to find that he won 2nd prize in Parenthood’s baby magazine’s regular contest.
We simply bought the magazine and flipped the page to it, coz the publisher has yet to inform us anything. Of all the contest we joined, I am so glad we won this one, coz the prize isn’t any other product but Mei Mei’s organic product, and it’s so timely as we have now changed to organic products.
