Some time in early 2022, I started researching for a supplement especially safe for kids, when my son started getting fever and flu like symptoms too often. It all started when he got an infection from a dirty pool and started getting fever and flu long term. I tried many kinds of supplement and eventually read about Tiger Milk Mushroom. Since taking it for over 3 months now, he hardly suffered the morning sneezes and stuffy nose as before.

Tiger milk mushroom, also known scientifically as Lignosus rhinocerus, is a fascinating fungus with a rich history and potential health benefits. Here’s a breakdown of its key aspects:

Natural History:
Grows in tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Its name comes from a Malay legend associating it with the milk of tigresses feeding their cubs.
Traditionally used for centuries by indigenous communities for various ailments.
Characteristics:

Has a woody, brown cap with concentric rings and a white, fleshy underside.
Can grow up to 12 inches across, forming underground sclerotia (hardened structures) containing medicinal compounds.
Cultivated commercially since 2009, increasing its availability for research and consumption.
Potential Benefits:

Respiratory health: May help combat respiratory issues like asthma, bronchitis, and coughs by reducing inflammation and boosting immunity.
Immune system: Bioactive compounds might enhance the immune system’s response to infections.
Antioxidant activity: Rich in antioxidants that protect cells from damage and potentially reduce chronic disease risk.
Anti-inflammatory properties: May benefit conditions like arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.
Other potential benefits: Studies suggest possible roles in liver function, cognitive function, and even cancer prevention, but more research is needed.

Overall, tiger milk mushroom is a unique and intriguing medicinal mushroom with potential health benefits, particularly for respiratory health and immunity.
