Butterfly X Taman Hati #JagaHati Workshop

Looking-forward-to-a-briht-and-magical-year
What is better to do on a rainy Saturday afternoon than to curl up on the sofa with a book in your hand? As tempting as that sounds, I really did have a better than that Saturday afternoon at a really cosy Café in SS2. I had the pleasure of attending the Jagahati workshop at Taman Hati Studio & Cafe, organized by The Butterfly Project. Taman Hati Studio & Cafe is a charming plant studio and cafe unlike any other.

It is a hidden gem that is perfect for nature lovers, cat lovers, coffee lovers and foodies alike. Yes, there are cats here and there is no entrance fee to play with the cats! The workshop was held in a spacious and airy room, surrounded by lush plants and natural light. There was literally a mini forest inside the café and plant lovers will go gaga over them. All kinds of species thrive here while being indoors, it was truly inspiring and peaceful to be surrounded by living greenery.

Taman Hati has some killer waffles and carrot cakes, brownies and curry puffs and I couldn’t stop munching on them. As a coffee lover, I can testify, the coffee here is top notch, brewed from high-quality espresso beans. I also savoured the potato chips kindly sponsored by Iberica Spirit, and wow, the flavour really burst with every crunch, and let me tell you why. Iberica Spirit potato chips are a Spanish brand of potato chips that are known for their high quality and delicious flavors. The chips are made with carefully selected potatoes, sunflower oil, and olive oil, and they are seasoned with a variety of flavors. They are cooked traditional Spanish style, which gives them a crispy texture and a rich flavour. The chips are also gluten-free, making them a good option for people with dietary restrictions.

After filling my stomach to the brim, it was time for our DIY Succulent planting workshop. I was so excited as I have never been to such a workshop before and I was really curious about how to pot my first plant. Our instructor, Jan, was super knowledgeable and friendly, and she guided us through the steps of planting our own succulents. We learned about the different types of succulents, how to choose the right pot and soil, and how to care for our plants. Everything is provided at Taman Hati, from tiny spoons, to the soil to the stones and even the decoration at the end.

I couldn’t believe how I used to think just any soil on the ground can be used for planting, it was super fun and eye opening. I can see how such an activity can be really bonding for families with young children and even corporate companies.

Jan told me that Taman Hati actually does in house succulent and terrarium workshops as well as workshops at our chosen locality. I hope to organise one at my center one of these days as I had such an enriching experience coming out of it. I appreciate every petal of a plant now more than ever, and I find myself reading up on different species and appreciating more of nature.

After planting our succulents, we were free to explore the cafe while mingling and enjoying the delicious food and drinks. The cafe offers a variety of cakes that looked very interesting including watermelon cake. There were also pies, burnt cheese cakes and more.

I also had the opportunity to spend more time with cats that live at the cafe, all three of them being rescue cats. The cats are all very friendly and love to cuddle with visitors. I spent some time playing with the cats and taking pictures of them. Actually I already met them earlier, but cats are just irresistible to me. I think Jan has another 5 cats at home, I missed the days I used to foster a lot cats. Creating a cat shelter home is definitely one of my life goals.

We also had time to get to know the Taman Hati team as well as having some quiz time with Jan. Butterfly Project also held an exciting lucky draw and yes, I was one of the winners! I can’t wait to tell about the goodies I received that I had been using over the past month. Scroll down for more!

At the end of the workshop, we were all given goodie bags filled with generous gifts from Monin, YvesRocher, Pudu Ria Florist, Iberica Spirit, and The Wood Place. I was so excited to receive a pot of Kalanchoe plant from Pudu Ria Florist, as well as body wash from YvesRocher and potato chips from Iberica Spirit. I also loved the wooden coaster from The Wood Place.

1) Monin Syrup

I have been seeing this syrup everytime I visit my local cafe, but I never thought that I can have them in my home! I received this super mini Hazelnut syrup and I also won the Cucumber syrup in the lucky draw. They make my coffee counter look so much more ‘professional’. Monin syrups are a great way to add flavor to any drinks and desserts. They are made with high-quality ingredients and come in a wide variety of flavors.

I love using hazelnut syrup in coffee drinks, such as lattes and mochas. It gives the coffee a rich, nutty flavor. Cucumber syrup is a refreshing and unique flavor that I love using in cocktails and mocktails. I also use it in lemonade and iced tea, and recently I even added it when cooking my Gui Ling Gao jelly. I also found out that Monin has a wide variety of sugarless syrups. They are sweetened with sucralose and have zero calories and zero sugar. Monin sugarless syrups are a great option for people who are trying to reduce their sugar intake or who have diabetes.

2) Yves Rocher The Raspberry Concentrated Shower Gel 100ml

When I first received this shower gel, I wondered what it meant by concentrated. Also, all the flavours seemed like delicious food, besides Raspberry, they have Olive, Pomegranate, Mango, Green Tea and more! I had been using it for over a month now and I just love the refreshing and invigorating shower gel with a delicious raspberry scent. It is made with 97% natural ingredients, including raspberry extract and organic aloe vera gel. The shower gel lathers well and leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and hydrated. The sweet and fruity scent also wakes me up and puts me in a good mood every time I use it. Now after using it, I realised why it is called concentrated. Believe it or not, I only need to use a tiny drop to wash my whole body! This means that a little goes a long way, so the bottle will last me a while. The shower gel is also packaged in a recyclable bottle, which is great for the environment.

3) Kalanchoe plant from Puduria Florist KL

I was so excited to receive a pink Kalanchoe plant from Pudu Ria Florist! Kalanchoes are beautiful and easy-care plants that produce clusters of colorful flowers throughout the year. My Kalanchoe is a vibrant pink color, and it has already started to bloom. Pudu Ria Florist is a well-known and respected florist in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They have been in business for over 30 years, and they offer a wide variety of flowers, plants, and gifts. Pudu Ria Florist is known for their fresh flowers and friendly service. I am so grateful to Pudu Ria Florist for this generous gift. My Kalanchoe plant is a beautiful addition to my home, and it brings me joy every time I see it.

4) Koster from The Wood Place

Koster is a wooden coaster made from reclaimed wood from The Wood Place, a Malaysian company that produces sustainable and eco-friendly wood products. The coaster is well-made and has a beautiful rustic finish. It is also very sturdy and can hold a heavy mug or glass without any problems. I love using my Koster at home. It is the perfect way to protect my furniture from water rings and stains. I also like the fact that the Koster is made from reclaimed wood. This means that it is sustainable and eco-friendly. I also use Koster as a stand for my essential oils products, so the oil don’t stain my table. The Wood Place also offers custom woodworking services. They can create custom wood products to your specifications, such as furniture, home decor, or other items. The Wood Place is committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. They use reclaimed wood whenever possible, and they plant a tree for every tree that they harvest. They also use non-toxic finishes on their products. They also have DIY classes and build together workshops which can be so meaningful with our loved ones.

5) Iberica Spirit Potato Chips

Potato Chips are my family’s favourite snacks especially when watching a movie together. I’ve already talked about it above but to reiterate, I love how Iberica Spirit potato chips are a healthier alternative to traditional potato chips because they are made with high-quality ingredients and are cooked in a healthier way. As I was munching away on them, my son also told me that Iberica Spirit potato chips are lower in calories, fat, and saturated fat than traditional potato chips. They are also higher in potassium. So now I don’t have to feel so guilty indulging in chips! I got to try three of the flavours, Himalayan salt, Mediterranean herbs and Curado cheese, my favourite of all being Curado Cheese.

I am so grateful to The Butterfly Project for organizing this amazing event and to Taman Hati Studio & Cafe for hosting it. I had a wonderful time and learned so much about self-care, taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional health. It is important to make time for self-care, even when we are busy. Taking time out for ourselves can help us to relax, de-stress, and recharge. It can also help us to improve our overall well-being. I certainly achieved while fully focusing on planting my succulent and leaving any worries outside the door. I also learned about sustainability living, reducing our consumption and reusing and recycling whenever possible. At the event, we could only plant in a used glass container lying around our home, and we could only bring the goodies back in our own tote bag. It was a simple act that will bring huge changes to our world and to our future generation. Taking care of ourselves and taking care of the planet are interconnected. When we take care of ourselves, we are better able to take care of the planet. And when we take care of the planet, we are creating a better future for ourselves and for generations to come. Thank you Mamasan Tammy x Butterfly Project for this amazing opportunity.
