Dreaming of Traveling Again

In my business, we are always writing our dreams in a book we call Life Scenario. The above is the Balanced life wheel. Our life will be balanced only if we plan well in all aspects and not just in money and physical things. We also need to plan for how to contribute to society, for our families, for our own learning etc.

We believe that a balanced life is to live well, to love, to learn and to contribute. Most successful people will tell you that they succeeded because they have a dream. They created the success stories in their minds long before it came to pass. That is the goal of writing our dreams and I make it a point to write it and renew it at least once a month. I always write about traveling but since the Covid-19, I have mostly been home-bound with nowhere to go. Initially, I was reluctant to write about travel again until the whole situation blows over, however, I guess it’s ok to let my mind travel a little, don’t you think?

As I was researching and dreaming of where to go with my family for a getaway if only the borders opened again, I thought why not go for a Staycation Singapore. It has been more than 16 years since my last trip there, I wonder how much has changed. I have nothing but great memories of the few trips to Singapore before the kids came along and I really want to bring them to experience the amazing Lion City.

In my previous travels to Singapore, I had only stayed in dorms and budget hotels. Since I’m dreaming right now, I should dream only of the best and most luxurious hotels, right? I found one that really blew me away and reminded me of the glitz and glamour in Crazy Rich Asians, it’s none other than Capella Singapore.

The rooms in Capella Hotel range from RM2000 to RM33000 ++. I’m particularly attracted to the exterior jacuzzi available in the Constellation Room, overlooking the sea. Yes, Capella is actually in Sentosa Island. For RM33k a night, you get a whole villa to yourself with private pool and all.

If you wonder why you get a British Colonial vibe, you are spot on (think Bridgerton). Capella was actually built in the 1880s to house British officers of the Royal Artillery and their families. That’s a little bit of historical background for you. I love visiting historical sights whenever I travel, so it’s a two-in-one if I ever get to stay here. I’m glad Singapore kept it so well to this day so we can enjoy it. So as for my Life Scenario, I’m going to write that I can stay at this hotel with my whole family in 2022.

Whenever we go for a Staycation, the pool is what we research the most. The green pool definitely looks inviting and there seem to be two pools for access to hotel guests, an adult, and a kids’ pool. Most of the hotel guest reviews say the pools are excellent!

It also seems pretty nearby to a public beach. I have actually never been to the beach in Singapore, what more on Sentosa. It should be really amazing. I probably won’t be doing any golfing here, though it is available and a top notch one for professional golfers.

I’m going to make sure I visit the complimentary spa, yes it’s for all guests. When vacationing, I always get more tired than relaxed, unless there is a spa in the hotel. How I miss getting massages, falling asleep as all the stressed muscles are pressed away under skillful hands. Goodbye Covid-19, let us travel again!
