Petronas Twin Towers Tour

The other day, when me and Jordan had a date at the MPO’s Family Fun Day, I chanced upon an escalator leading downstairs from the box office that said Petronas Twin Towers Tour.
Actually, I had been up the Twin Towers Bridge many many many years ago when I first came to KL. At that time, the bridge tour was only open once in the morning with a very limited number of tickets given out, but it was free then. I didn’t know that now they are open all day and even have a tour to the Observation Deck. Knowing that Jordan super love towers and buildings, I decided we will celebrate Mother’s Day viewing the skyline of KL that day.

We bought our tickets before heading to the MPO. After the MPO, we immediately rushed to the entrance to line up as we needed to be in line half an hour before the tour starts.

At the line, we were given our Visitor Tags, and kids were given stickers instead. We were divided into colour coded groups so that only about 20 people went up at a time. I guess it is for safety reasons, not too many people crowding the bridge.

We were first brought to the Sky Bridge. There was even a tour guide to explain the engineering behind the bridge. Inside the lift, there were lcd screens to show recorded scenery outside. This reminded me of the lift to the Observation Deck to Namsang Tower which lifted up like a rocket. It was much less dramatic here in KLCC. The Skybridge is at level 41. That’s like about halfway of the whole KLCC Tower only.

Nevertheless, the view was already amazing from here. It just felt amazing to be on the bridge! Everyone should pay a visit here. We were given a few minutes, I think about 10-15 min here to marvel at the surrounding and take pictures of ourselves. After our time is up, the guide would call us to the lift to go to the Observation Deck on Level 86.

Level 86 is pretty much the top of the Tower. Here we can view the Twin Peak up close and personal, it was pretty amazing. Taking photos can be bit tricky if alone, due to lighting and all that. So, best to visit the tower armed with a better camera. The Observation Deck had many information about the twin towers and the KLCC area development.

We could see KL from way up high, including that very huge and tall TRX. There is no way to capture the feeling on any lens. It was an experience that need one to be there to really take it in. As a Malaysian, we should go on this tour at least once in our lives. I have to go again next time with Josiah.
