Fly to Hong Kong With Mary Kay Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick

Check out the eight beautiful shades from Mary Kay Gel Semi-Matte Lipsticks! Which one is your fav? They are namely, left to right top to bottom, Bashful You, Rich Truffle, Mauve Movement, Powerful Pink, Always Apricot, Poppy Please, Midnight Red, and Crushed Berry. They go from nude to red to darker shade.  All makeup lovers would know how hard it is to find a matte lipstick that is not drying, but with these babies, the lips can remain soft and supple without that dry feeling throughout the day, while the colour remains true and lasting. Read on too to find out how you can win a trip to Hong Kong with Mary Kay.

Have you bought lipstick before that looks a certain colour on the ad but when you use it, it is totally different? I’m so surprised that with Mary Kay lippies, it really is what you see is what you get. What you see on the screen here, what you see when you open that lipstick cap (which is see thru by the way) and what you see when you swatch and what you see on your lips, they are all the same, seriously. I also like the packaging, the simple and classic black and silver overall look in a standard twist tube. Anyways, I received the above four colours for my review, and though I seldom use a lot of lipstick, I am beginning to thanks to these four very versatile colours that I can use daily to work.

Swatch on my arms.

I guess watching the above ad makes you want the lipstick all the more!

So basically what makes Mary Kay lippies stand out is the technology behind it.

  1. Cushion Matrix Technology is an advanced formula that uses ultrafine silica microspheres that embeds and retains the colour you see on the lips, plus it also contains moisturising ingredients like sunflower oil and jojoba esters that is like a conditioner to the lips. This is the tech that gives that semi-matte finish.

  2. It also has this soft-focus effect, causing light to scatter and minor imperfections to be blurred, it doesn’t have this hard line around the lips which I love as it is not always easy to draw the perfect lip shape

  3. Mentioned earlier, tho all the body of the lipstick is black, there is a see thru clear glass on the top to ease finding your shade without having to open each one of them, classy and easy altogether.

What’s a lipstick review without showing you how it looks on me right? Here’s me wearing Bashful You. This is really a nude lippie that will match with overall nude makeup. It is great for daily wear when I don’t want to be too ‘loud’ especially at work. Do you feel that matte lippies also make one look more professional?

Rich Truffle reminds me of dessert, chocolate cake, cookies, the likes, and thus this colour is very sweet for me.

I always go for pink lippies as my main pick so this is no different, Powerful Pink sure fits its name so accurately, it’s pink but bright and therefore, powerful. It seems to command, look at my lips! I am surprised though that I do not really find it too much, even with the brightness I can find clothes to go with it pretty easily.
Finally, the darkest shade that I have is Midnight Red. It is not like blood red but more towards copper red. I am not used to wearing dark shades but I guess I could start trying it out. Also, I love to mix and match the shades to create a gradient, if the Kbeauty gradient lips is what you prefer, it is very easy to do so with these shades. All eight shades are available now at only RM55 each.

Beautitul skyline! Where is this that is beckoning me! Do you want to go there! It’s HONG KONG of course, that famous skyline we see so often in TVB movies.
