Jordan Lu at 6 months

Jordan Lu is now 6 months plus and took his last vaccination of the year for Hep B. At the check up at KK, he weighed in at 10.5 kg and 68 cm. That’s some serious fats, that the nurse required us to meet the doctor and the doctor now required us to meet the dietitian this week. I’m not sure what the dietitian is going to say, drink less milk? He’s only on Breastmilk and it’s not that much. I just started his solids and it’s only once a day as well.

So what can Jordan Lu do now? He still sleeps much the same, 3 naps a day, two short naps of 30-45 min and one really long one up to 2-3 hours. He still sleeps in the swing, but occasionally he can nap on the bed with me by his side. Speaking of which, he seemed to need me by his side all the time. At nights after he had fallen asleep, I will quietly leave the room, but within less than a hour, he would start crying longingly for me. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, his fat little hands will reach out to feel for me, and when it found me, he would settle back to sleep himself, just checking that I am still there.

Phyiscal skills wise, Jordan can grab things well now. Whatever enters his grasp will enter his mouth! We had to be so much more careful with what toys we give him now. In the last two days, he also start turning from back to front very easily. Once on his tummy, he is able to move backwards and around although not forwards yet. He can sit up by himself for long hours in the high chair if there is enough entertainment on his tray. He enjoys the game of throwing everything on the floor and watching in glee as we pick it up for him. He gums everything within reach including the corners of chairs and our fingers including his clean cloth diapers when diaper changing to my utmost appall. His hands and legs will not stop kicking when we hold him ‘standing up’ position.

smile
His favourite past time is going for a stroll. If we kept him indoors all day, he will start whining non stop until his daddy puts him in the stroller and brings him around the garden. I am glad to say, Jordan has kept up with Josiah and Daddy by being a smiley one.

As mentioned, he started on solids and I had been feeding him Rice Cereals, Rolled Oats, Sweet Potatos and now Apple Sauce. So far, he looks like a hearty eater, never spitting up the food and excited at every feeding times. When I hold the spoon in front of him, he will lunge forwards or try to use his hands to push the spoon towards himself.

Speaking wise, he had stopped saying Angugu and graduated to saying repetitive words, like tatata. Well, time had indeed passed too fast, no longer do I have a newborn but a big giant baby.
