I can seriously say I have a hobby, and that is sending and receiving postcards from around the world.
I had so far sent 7 postcards out, to Finland, USA, Germany, and Czech Republic through Postcrossing.com. I don’t know why there are so many Finland users on that site.
So far, I had received 3 cards. The first was from Germany from Julia.
I hate how our postmen simply fold the card in half and stuff it into my letter box, when there’s a proper compartment for them to slip it in. BAD postman..
I received the 2nd and 3rd card at the same time, one from USA and one from Finland.
Then I thought about how I can possibly use the postcards as deco in some way instead of just stashing them into a box. If I just stick them or frame them, I can’t see the written part, as the writings are just as important as the pictures. These are interesting cards personalised by someone from places in the world I’ve never been.
And then I saw this in my wedding photographer’s website, I thought this is a really neat idea. So I went about to buy the beaded string and clips, and put these up on the wall going up my staircase. Well, it’s nothing to look at now, since it’s only 3 cards, wait till all the cards come in. And I hope they are from really different parts of the world.
sounds like a great idea! do show us how it turns out 🙂
and happy postcrossing!
This is neat! Thanks for sharing the idea. I have a lot of postcards from Postcrossing too, but I just don’t have enough space to show them off. And I DO wonder why there are so many postcards sent from Finland.
Yea. Cool idea. And its so nice to receive postcards
AWESOME! I needed some inspiration to get my box of postcards up – it’s perfect!
