Turning one year old recently, my myvi got itself a revamp for the audio system. The original MYVI comes only with a Clarion CD player…as mentioned earlier in my post about FM modulators, I was looking to use my iPod in the car and play more songs instead of having to burn all my albums on CDs. (I don’t leave original CDs in the car). Anyways, after my post, another blogger Azrin had warned me about frying my iPod coz of the different volts. That sucks, so I had to look at AUX in type of players.

I ended up with the KENWOOD KDC MD439, a pretty decent MP3 CD Player with Bass Boost and AUX input. MYVI also doesn’t come with speakers at the rear, like all normal cars do. So we got the Kenwood speakers installed too.
This is my setup for the iPod.
When I’m the passenger, I can even watch my podcasts. Sometimes I can also use the holder for my handphone to make calls using the in car speakers. Pretty awesome. All this job was done at Brothers. I was impressed with overall job, though not with the salesman. He made a lot of promises only to add on the pricing after the deal was made, and there were too many excuses.
Anyways, the player and speakers works well for me, nothing too loud or bassy.

how much in total for the modification?
Let me see…changing the headboard - RM78
The Kenwood player - RM388
Speakers - RM299
Some thing to up the voltage - RM90
Installation - RM65
But in total the bill was RM855 as they discounted the installation…the salesman had not mentioned I needed the power that costs RM90 nor the installation of RM65..so that was the additional..aux input cable was my own
