THE MPO CELEBRATES RACHMANINOFF’S 150TH BIRTHDAY!
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) celebrates the 150th birthday of renowned classical composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in concerts themed ‘Happy Birthday Rachmaninoff’ on Saturday, 1 April 2023 at 8.30 pm (sold out) and Sunday, 2 April 2023 at 3.00 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. The concerts are part of the MPO’s 25th anniversary this year which celebrates glorious masterpieces from the classical music world. Rachmaninoff’s works are known for their extravagant grandeur, unabashed appeal to the emotions, rapturous melodies, rich colours with powerful romantic surge.
