he Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) welcomes home Malaysian viola da gamba player Ibrahim Aziz in an evening of Baroque music on Saturday, 30 November 2024 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. A native of Kuala Lumpur and currently based in London, Ibrahim will enthrall audience with his unique artistry on the fascinating six-string instrument through masterpieces such as Telemann’s Overture Suite for Gamba in D and Fiala’s Gamba Concerto in F. THE MPO CLOSES ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH FAMED WORK ‘SCHEHERAZADE’
e in a rapture when the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) presents the music of Scheherazade on Saturday, 16 December 2023 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. This event will be the finale concert for the MPO’s 25th anniversary celebration this year. Renowned conductor Eiji Oue returns to the DFP podium after his last collaboration with the MPO in 2018. His past engagements were with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Munich and Tokyo Philharmonics, to name a few.
