THE MPO CLOSES ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH FAMED WORK ‘SCHEHERAZADE’
e in a rapture when the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) presents the music of Scheherazade on Saturday, 16 December 2023 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. This event will be the finale concert for the MPO’s 25th anniversary celebration this year. Renowned conductor Eiji Oue returns to the DFP podium after his last collaboration with the MPO in 2018. His past engagements were with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Munich and Tokyo Philharmonics, to name a few. Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) continues its 25th anniversary celebration with a jazz concert themed The Music of Stevie Wonder to be presented by the MPO Jazz Band & Friends on Saturday, 9 September 2023 at 8.30 pm. The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) continues to stretch its versatility when it celebrates the music of legendary Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng on Saturday, 15 April 2023 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP). This concert is part of the MPO’s 25th anniversary celebration and a testimony of its diverse artistry in presenting concerts of different genres such as classical, pop, jazz, traditional and contemporary. This is the MPO’s ongoing initiatives to appease the varied music tastes for everyone.
