Sit up and be ready when the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) brings you a musical journey of superheroes themed Heroes Anthem on Saturday, 27 April 2024 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC.

The MPO, under the leadership of Gerard Salonga, will pay tribute to the amazing fictional characters who have captured the attention of movie goers and TV viewers through their fights and struggles which have resonated with the lives of mere mortals. All superhero characters are entrenched in popular culture and that they are recognizable by almost everyone.
Enjoy an adventurous ride when the MPO presents Williams’ classic ‘Superman March’ from Superman The Movie (1978) and Zimmer’s theme from Man Of Steel (2013), a work decidedly more modern and electronic in composition.
Also included in the programme are Giacchino’s Suite from Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Elfman’s theme from Spider-Man (2002), with notes that reveal an image of Spidey swinging his way from building to building in New York City.
The MPO will also perform music from powerful scenes from the Batman movies and series;
Zimmer’s The Dark Knight Suite (2008), Elfman’s Main Theme from Batman The Animated Series (1992) and Gudnadottir’s ‘The Bathroom Dance’ taken from Joker (2019).
Gregson-Williams’ ‘Kingdom of Atlantis’ from Aquaman (2018), capturing the sea environment in the story effectively, Silvestri’s March from Captain America (2011), dedicated to a hero perfected physically with an experimental serum, and Elfman’s theme from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) will also definitely enthrall fans young and old.
The cinematic journey will continue with riveting tunes from blockbusters such as Iron Man 3, Thor: Love And Thunder, The Avengers, Transformers, X Men and Guardians of the Galaxy.
