Last weekend, my family and I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Saudi Travel Fair at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. As a long-time admirer of Middle Eastern culture, I was eager to explore the diverse offerings that Saudi Arabia had to offer. The event was a feast for the senses, filled with vibrant displays, immersive experiences, and a glimpse into the country’s rich heritage.
A Virtual Journey to Saudi Arabia
For those who couldn’t make the trip to Saudi Arabia in person, the fair offered a virtual reality experience that transported visitors to some of the country’s most iconic landmarks. We donned VR headsets and were instantly immersed in the breathtaking scenery of the Red Sea and the ancient city of AlUla. It was a truly immersive and unforgettable experience.
Exploring Saudi Arabia’s Rich Heritage
Beyond the entertainment, the fair provided valuable insights into Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage. We learned about the country’s history, traditions, and natural beauty. From the ancient ruins of Hegra to the bustling city of Jeddah, the fair showcased the diverse experiences that await travelers.
One of the highlights of our visit was our experience at the Qahwa Saudi cafe. We indulged in a delightful sampling of traditional Saudi coffee and dates. The coffee was rich, flavorful, and served in the traditional Arabic style, while the dates were sweet and chewy. It was a delicious and authentic taste of Saudi Arabian cuisine.
Discovering the Best Deals
The Saudi Travel Fair was also a great opportunity to find the best deals on trips to Saudi Arabia. There were 13 travel agencies promoting both Umrah and leisure packages, offering special prices and discounts exclusively for the event. We were able to compare different options and find the perfect package for our family.
As Alhasan Aldabbagh, President of Asia-Pacific Markets at the Saudi Tourism Authority, stated at the Saudi Travel Fair in Putrajaya, ‘Saudi is a year-round destination full of history, diverse offerings and warm Arabian hospitality. As the world’s fastest-growing tourism destination, we offer something for everyone—whether you seek a spiritual journey, cultural attractions, or an exciting adventure.’
A Chance to Win
To add to the excitement, the fair also featured a lucky draw where visitors could win exciting prizes, including flight tickets to Saudi Arabia. We were eager to participate and hoped to be one of the lucky winners.
Our visit to the Saudi Travel Fair was a truly enriching experience. We not only learned about Saudi Arabia’s culture and attractions but also had the opportunity to explore its stunning landscapes through virtual reality, try traditional practices like using a miswak, and enjoy delicious Saudi coffee and dates at the Qahwa Saudi cafe. If you’re planning a trip to Saudi Arabia or simply curious about the country, I highly recommend attending the Saudi Travel Fair. It’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of this fascinating destination.
