Samsung launched the A series mobile phones in mid March 2022 right at the heels of the flagship S series. The A series consists of Galaxy A23, Galaxy A33 5G, Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A73 5G. We will be unboxing only the A33 5G today and showing you up close and personal shots of this new and beautiful phone.

I love how Samsung has gone the eco-friendly route with their smaller and smaller phone boxes and minimizing carbon footprint. The A33 5G box is fuss free and compact.

What you see is what you get. The phone sits under sleeve for the manuals and cable. No adapter as with most phones nowadays. It is a good step as we can reuse either our old phone chargers and get one as and when we need.

The A33 comes wrapped in plastic, just remove it. Unlike the S series, it does not have another protective film on the front and back besides the one wrapped around it. However, the sides of the phone have protective film that I somehow prefer to keep on. Should I remove it?

A few paper documentation that users will never read are found inside the box, a white cable is provided. This is useful for using Smart Switch to transfer files from your old phone to this new one as it’s a USB-C on both sides. Samsung phones can also be charged by another phone using this cable. A SIM removal tool is attached to the box.

At first touch, I like how the back of the phone feels. It is a matte touch and not shiny so fingerprints are not visible. It doesn’t look cheap but it feels light as it is plastic.

Compared to its predecessor, the cameras now sits in a protruded but seamless panel. I prefer how that makes the lenses sit inside the whole panel rather than the lens being poking out individually as in A32. It made it less possible to knock on the lens and break it.

The A33 is easy to hold and grip even for small hands. I would definitely get a cover for it later but even without it, it doesn’t seem to be something I would easily drop as it’s really light. The rounded edges also makes it comfortable to hold.

The USB-C port is at the bottom center, with the speaker output beside it.

The sim tray sits at the top, even the A33 has dual-sim.

The included sim removing tool comes handy when wanting to insert your sim card.

Yes the sim tray not only supports dual-sim but it also supports a micro sd card up to 1TB to store all your videos and photos.

Overall, it looks like it’s going to be a great phone for daily use, especially since it has a 5000mAh battery. More to come after I use this phone for the next two weeks and will be giving you review on it.
