Every time we break for school holidays, the first place I want to go is Sunway Lagoon! What’s better than a splashing good time away from the heat? For the whole month of December, Sunway Lagoon will be transformed into a Christmas island, with dancers to greet early birds at the entrance, to Christmas Tea parties with Santa. What’s more, the park will close late on weekends so merry goers can party till late while enjoying Buffet BBQ at the beach.Â
We were there with the media family to witness the opening ceremony of Sunway Lagoon’s “It’s Wipeout†holiday celebration which will feature exciting activities and events planned for visitors of all ages.Â
There is actually a Kids Zone @ Mali Cove which boasts a foam party, a ball pit, a floatie toys pool. Younger kids like Jordan would totally enjoy this place. We can let the kids have fun here while we challenge ourselves at the star event, the Wild Water Run Challenge.
“It’s Wipeout Wild Water Run†challenge @Mali Cove features floating inflatables. Daily giveaways include JBL speakers and the ultimate champion of the month will battle it out to win a GoPro Hero 7worth RM1,900! So, for the fun of it, we took on the challenge, and the truth is, it’s harder than it looks! Thankfully, I didn’t drop in the water and managed to make it to the end. However, it seriously tested my muscles for sure. Too bad only I didn’t win as there were some really strong teams competing with us.
The surf beach area was transformed into Christmas Island with a giant sandman and gifts as a Christmas Tree. I bet this would look amazing in the night as they light it up.
We felt like being kids again as we gathered to make ‘
Time: 2:30pm – 5:00pm (Sat & Sun)
Location:Â Beach Bistro

For some rest time, we proceeded to Beach Bistro. I thought it was just tea time but it was more than that. We enjoyed an extensive tea spread with delicious hot chocolates, cakes and scones while enjoying a Christmas movie on bean bags, yes it’s ok to be all wet and wild and sandy at the same time.
What luxury! While we sip on our tea and coffee, the kids are off to decorating gingerbread man and cupcake. Kids being kids, they might not eat the tea spread cupcake, but they would gobble up their own decorated ones without a second thought.Â
The other happenings include the Party Zone @ Mali Cove where guestswill be entertained by a DJ as well as a variety of shows and performances.
During the weekends (Friday, Saturday &Sunday), visitors can fuel their activity-filled day at Sunway Lagoon at the Beach Bistro which will feature a special BBQ dinner at the Beach Bistro featuring everybody’s mouth-watering holiday barbeque
However, the highlight of the night programme
will definitely be Sunway Lagoon’s first ever Night Parade happening at 7:30pm.
This event surely is not to be missed, featuring a fanfare which includes Captain
and Lady Quack decked in Christmas attire, unicyclists, jugglers, balloon
bearers, a DJ truck and Santa himself riding on a sleigh.
While all these events and activities will certainly make for a fun-filled day, Sunway Lagoon is raising the bar even higher with a variety of shows which will take place throughout the day at various locations within Sunway Lagoon. These include the Swashbuckling Christmas Show, a “Jingle Bells Rock!â€, Evolution of Dance†performance, a Slime Time event, a special fire performance and a Tale of Mount Berapi & Waves of
“We’re pulling out all the stops with a no-holds-barred approach to this Wipeout Wonderland as we like to call it. Sunway Lagoon decided to create a truly memorable grand experience where families and friends can spend quality time together while having barrels of fun and laughter which they will remember and cherish for a long time,†said Sean Choo, General Manager of Sunway Lagoon.
