Recently, I joined the Tropicana Twister Keceriaan Berganda contest hoping to win some of the RM288,000 cash prize. Since Chinese New Year is coming soon, I started thinking about what I can cook for my family when I go back to my hometown at the end of this month. While drinking the orange juice and browsing for recipes, I came upon this Orange Baked Chicken Dish and decided to give it a try. Oranges are very auspicious for Chinese New Year! The orange colour actually represents gold and the Cantonese word for Orange is ‘Kam’ which sounds like Gold. That is why you will find people giving away boxes of oranges this season, as it symbolises prosperity and wealth.
Back to my chicken dish, I decided to cook Chicken Wings for my family. These are the ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of Tropicana orange juice
- 1 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- A pinch of Pink Salt
- 4 pieces Chicken Wings
This recipe is very simple. Anyone can do it. You can also use the Microwave for a shorter cooking time but the conventional oven will make the grilled chicken crispier.
Steps:
- Heat the oven to 200 Deg Celsius. Then combine the Tropicana Twister orange juice with garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and salt. Add the chicken wings and coat it generously.
- Arrange the wings on a plate and mix in the 1/4 cup of orange mixture and spoon the rest of the mixture over the wings. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn the wings over and pour in the reserved orange mixture. Cook until just done, about 10 minutes longer.
The wings are done! What better way to eat them than with more Tropicana Twister Orange Juice!
