Hey I still haven’t got enough of US Burger & Fries, so last weekend I had to drop by Swensen’s Cafe in Avenue K to get a taste of their specialty on the menu in line with the fiesta.
Swensen’s Cafe is well known for the ice cream but did you know they have some awesome burgers on their menu too? This cafe is pretty kid friendly as there’s even a Lego’s play area corner here.
The first burger we tried is the Swensen’s Ultimate Chicken Burger (RM23.90) which is the No. 1 must try on their menu.
The patty is fried breaded chicken and really thick, I think it is the whole chicken leg deboned. What is most unique is the special chef’s sauce, it has jackfruit salsa inside that is really sweet and blends so well with the fried chicken. A very interesting take and choice of fruit used that makes it very local. The chicken is really crispy and the inside is hot and juicy.
It is served with a side of coleslaw which has a generous portion and US Fries. I love the fries a lot as it is US Straight Cut Fries which I prefer, just the right size for snacking. I think by now I can tell what is real US Fries as they have a standard quality that feels like real genuine potatoes and not so starchy. The fries is not messy and greasy, a thumbs up from me.
Next we savoured the Double Cheese Beef Burger (RM31.90).Â
Oh wow look at the melting cheese and there’s not one but two patty hence the double, and both patties have a melted cheddar cheese flowing from it.
The sides are the same, but let’s talk about that thick beef patty. It is so filling to eat this, with the 2 half pound beef patties with leaf lettuce, tomato and mustard relish on a sesame toasted bun.
The US Fries like the previous dish was served hot and crispy. The portion is actually large, a couple of people can even share this one dish, even the coleslaw came in generous portions.
How can I not be all smiles after tasting two amazing burgers and fries, especially when the fries is tasty and of high quality.
