During my last trip to Genting Highlands for Aaron’s Crow magic show, we stopped by the newly opened The Food Factory located at Third Floor of First World Plaza for tea time. Actually The Food Factory is normally open for breakfast from 6am – 11am but for the holiday time in March and now in April, it is open every Saturday and Sundays for Hi-Tea from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm with a special rate of RM 38.00 nett for adults and only RM 10.00 nett for kids 5- 11 years old. This restaurant is really high tech, thus the name factory, and it is so huge with a capacity for 1300 diners!

Upon entering, all the children flock to the gelato ice cream counter, well me too, as I just love enjoying a cold cup of gelato in the cool weather. Outside of the restaurant, a cup cost about RM10, I think it is more worth it to pay and eat at The Food Factory for an amount of gelato!

As a coffee addict, I also love the fact that they have proper standard coffee machines flowing with the beautiful aroma of the best drink in the world.

The Food Factory is actually well known for their machines that churn out the food quickly. Inside this restaurant, there are actually a few giant cooking utensils such as a pancake machine and a pizza conveyer machine and even a machine for making fried rice and noodles. Children would love to watch the ‘show’ as only at the Food Factory one get to see how these machines work. Food are all separated into their category counters, like Western, East Asian, West Asian, Pizza, local delights and drinks.

Well the kids are all in love with the chocolate fountain and I love that we can use fruits with this instead of just marshmallows.

Even I cannot help but have a go at the chocolate! Oh yes there’s even a cotton candy machine here and I spotted a long line of kids queuing for this after their meal. Love how the Food Factory really built a restaurant catered to what kids love the most. The factory used Steel Belts – Berndorf Band Group, while making the food. After The Food Factory, we proceeded to have an egg-citing time at SnowWorld and after to Genting International Showroom to watch International Winning Magician, Aaron Crow Fearlessly in Action.
