Asia’s First Nickelodeon Theme Park Opens in Sunway Lagoon

Theme parks enthusiast rejoice and shout hurray coz Asia’s very first Nickelodeon Themed Park is now open inside Sunway Lagoon and it is know as the Lost Lagoon.

To get here we need to take a short train ride past the Wildlife park to the other side of the volcano. It feels like an all new place but actually it is still within Sunway Lagoon.

The launch earlier this month was attended by guest of honour, Selangor Chief Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Bin Ali; Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri, Dr. Jeffrey Cheah; Tan Sri Datuk Seri Razman M. Hashim, Sunway Group deputy chairman and Mark Whitehead, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, VIMN Asia.

During the launch, we were treated to Slime Time and an array of fireworks that exploded out of the volcano, so now I know what that volcano is for.

Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon which boasts 14 immersive attractions, themed with their well-known characters and cartoons such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all my kids’ fav characters. It’s exciting to note that these characters do make daily appearances too, the kids would get really excited over this.

There are really quite a lot to do here, with interactive play areas, a variety of waterslide rides, retail shops, games and a myriad of food service establishments and more. I usually can’t finish all the attractions at the usual park, and this one has even more. Some of the areas that interest me are as below:

HIPPO VALLEY 

The HIPPO VALLEY is where 3 different rides end up in COBRA CREEK, BOA CONSTRICTOR & CROCODILE GULLY

WONDER STEPS

The Wonder Steps are really cute, with flowing waterfall in between and sculptures of Spongebob in the Sphinx pose.

So many more exhilarating rides like Jungle Fury for the whole family swerving and sliding down together on the big floatie.

Or the Monsoon 360 that shoots you down vertically at great speed…

The new park has enough facilities for families to spend a whole day here, with their own food stalls and cool off areas.

There’s even a merchandise store for those last minute buys.

I think this park is really suitable for all ages, but particularly for younger ones as most of the rides are suitable for kids 120m and below.

Built with an investment of more than RM100 million, Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon is the result of a joint initiative between Sunway Group and VIMN, lending yet another layer of top-notch family-based fun to Sunway Lagoon’s five existing parks, which include its Water Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Interactive Wildlife Park and Lynton V Harris Scream Park.

Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon opens to the public on 3 February 2016.
