Sudio Klang Earphones from Sudio Sweden

I always have an attraction to great earphones. I must admit I have like three earphones from various brands lying around my office and another 4 lying around at home, and I always must have a pair of earphones that stay by my bedside for my midnight music or movie time. Others might look for their favourite stuffed toy before settling to bed, for me I’d look for my favourite earphones and make sure it is by my side, always. So you can imagine how thrilled I am when I get this brand new Earphones from Sweden for my review. Most girls can’t get enough of shoes, well I can’t get enough of Earphones. ( I still love my shoes thought)

Since I am an iPhone user, I decided to get the Sudio Klang made for iOS in brown because I love chocolate. Sudio Klang comes with a Full-feature 3-Button Remote and Stay-in-Ear. One button is for answer calls and the other two for increase/decrease. It is just like the original Apple earphones. Can you imagine how frustrating it is to get earphones that have buttons that do not work with the iPhone? I have other earphones that I use that cannot answer calls or change the volume. The Sudio Klang works perfectly for iOS even though the answer call buttons actually work on other operating systems too, just that the increase/decrease sound button might have different functions.

What I love about the Sudio Klang earphones is, it is just classy. Mine comes in leather brown with gold finishing, it’s own leather looking carrier case and even a golden cable clip for you to clip the cord to your shirt. It just speaks CLASS to me.

The packaging

The Sudio Klang is amazing well packaged when it arrived at my doorstep. It is like triple wrapped and comes in its own sturdy box.

First layer was a brown bubble layered envelope and inside is this packaging with the Sudio Logo on it. This white envelope is also bubble layered. Then the inside only is the Earphone box which is quite big.

It is covered in another layer of clear plastic, so it’s like waterproof incase the mail man fell into the drain or something. I was initially surprised with this big box just for a tiny earphone.

I was even more surprised when I open the insides. There are three small boxes, one for the actual earphones, one for the very cool warranty card and rather thick manual and one for the case.

Inside the product with the earphones are various sizes of ear buds to fit your very unique ear shape.

Now let’s talk about the most important point, the usability and quality of the sound. Firstly,  only the Sudio Klang has one cord long than the other, where the longer cable one can be wound on your neck to provide support, this helps prevent the earphones from being pulled out. The Sudio Klang is the stay in ear type, so it can be used like an accessory to suit your full OOTD. Great for people like me who can’t live without our music. As you can see from the pic above, the cable is the thin type, so it can be wound on itself without needing any box or accessory. After winding it up, it is quite flat and can easily be slipped into the case, which is also thin, so it makes this earphone so easy to bring about in your pants pocket or handbag. I compared the sound with the same music with the other 7 headphones I have including the orignal Apple earphone. Granted none of my earphones are branded ones but they all were great quality. Well, the Sudio Klang win hands down with the great sound and clear bass that doesn’t compromise the melody, the instruments of the music can be clearly heard but yet balanced to make the song enjoyable to all listeners.

The Background Story

The most fascinating thing about Sudio Sweden is the background story, it was what really drew me in to do this review. Check out the Designer who looks like a Model, Mats Wallsten. A little about Mats:
Mats Wallsten was born on the Swedish island Lidingö in 1988. The family of Wallsten has a long tradition of designers and Mats started working for his father’s yacht design house at the age of six. In time, Mats knew that he’d like to pursue a creative career and chose to attend one of Scandinavia’s most prestigious design schools, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.

The find the story of how the name Sudio was birthed super fascinating! Here’s the story written on their site and also inside the manual.

SUDIO - THE NAME
SUSSUDIO

The name Sudio comes from an incident when one of the founders spotted the musician Phil Collins in New York having problems with his headphones. With the frustration of not yet being able to offer any better alternative to Phil the only words he could out were: “trust me I know the feeling”, as they shared eye contact. The name Sudio is an homage to Phil Collins song Sussudio and the determination of succeeding with the venture rendered from the bitter sweet anecdote.

The Sudio Klang is also available in White, Black and Orange. It’s also selling in most Mac stores in Malaysia or you can just get it online at Sudiosweden.com. Sudio Klang retails at RM249 with free shipping to Malaysia and Worldwide. I got mine within 2 weeks from their shipping date. Good News! You can get 15% off when you shop online and enter my code Leona15.

  1. wow nice earphone there, love the color too. Agree we can’t have enough of shoes, as for earphones, same too but I also check on the price. 😀

  2. Somehow, I prefer normal earphone buds. In-ear types hurt my ears, even I do curl the cable around my ear as how it is supposed to be worn. I’m just weird.

  3. Well RM249 for a good quality and classic earphone, personally I think that’s really worth it.there are more even pricey earphone out of this country.the really quality pieces I’ve heard was around 300pounds *which is RM1800+-

  4. you do such a thorough review. I do love the higher end earphones, but almost always, I do not seem to be able to find time to listen to music, except when I’m in my car, jamming my life away. Guess upgrading the car audio system sounds like a good idea eh?

  5. I couldn’t remember where I read about Sudio too. Sound like a great product to have. But, I can’t wear earphone for longer than 5 minutes, my ears will be very painful. If they have speakers, I would like to look into it!

  6. I am a person who emphasize more on the sound quality of an earphone rather than the other features so here’s the question:

Is the sound quality better than Apple earpods or vice versa?

Other than that, I used to purchased earphone from Sudio which was Sudio TVA but it turned out to break in just a month of purchase!! So how about yours? Is it still in a good condition?
