Hari Raya With Watsons and WeChat Winners

Last Saturday, Watsons transported the media and their WeChat contest winners to the most beautiful place ever in the border of Kuala Lumpur, Subak Dine with Nature to celebrate Raya with the cast members of Raya Ni Dah Kahwin, Nina Iskandar and Amar Asyraf.

The lucky winners were determined from a voting campaign during the 8-week airing of the drama where WeChat followers get to vote for their favorite drama cast member and stand the chance to be invited for this Raya gathering.

Watsons definitely knew how to keep the guests busy and having fun with a series of activities at the venue, such as Caricature drawing with their famous artists. Lots of children especially were really excited to get their portraits done and this activity was high popular throughout the event.

Watsons also knew how to pamper members of the media and winners by giving a hand massage using their very own Naturals by Watsons range.

There was even a photobooth set up in the nature for us to take some family pics and group pics with friends with their professional photographer.

From there we could print out the pics with this nifty wifi printer using WeChat app…just key in the ID and the pics from our phone can be uploaded to print there. Pretty cool.

The event then started with a traditional dance performance joined in by our VIP Leading cast members Nina Iskandar and Amar Asyraf, who were present at the Hari Raya Open House celebration and had a jolly good time with the lucky WeChat winners as they danced the joget to Rasa Sayang tune on stage. The actor and actress also took a challenge with the winners and members of the media who were present with a short sketch challenge and a quiz trivia on the drama Raya Ni Dah Kahwin.

“We want to give a wholesome experience to Malaysians to connect in this joyful Hari Raya celebration with Watsons. And our aim is to showcase that Watsons is for the whole family through this drama series and the same time leverage a relationship with our customers,” said Danny Hoh, Head of Marketing, Watsons Malaysia.

“This is an extremely fun and joyous celebration and I’m very happy to share this moment with Watsons Malaysia WeChat followers. I hope they had a great time like I did especially with the joget,” said Amar at the celebration held at Subak Dine with Nature, Bukit Lanjan, Kuala Lumpur.

Nina further shared, “My role in the drama was to showcase how Watsons influence our daily lifestyle. My character was a store manager and her daily routine as a wife, colleague and friend shows good virtues as families come together to watch the drama series during the Ramadan month. My sincere thanks to Watsons for believing in us to perform this role on screen.”

It was a really meaningful event as Watsons Malaysia also presented a mock cheque to Hospis Malaysia with RM20, 000. The amount collected was a collaborative effort between Watsons Malaysia and GlaxoSmithKline Malaysia held during the Ramadan month where every 10 sen is donated to Hospis Malaysia for every Panadol or Panaflex purchased at Watsons stores nationwide. Low Siew Hui, who is the Finance and IT Director, Watsons Malaysia was present to handover the contribution to Wendy Loo, Public Relations Executive, Hospis Malaysia. Also present to witness the handover was Jessica Ng, Digital & Consumer Experience Director, Watsons Malaysia, Daniel Looi, Operations Director, Watsons Malaysia, Danny Hoh, Head of Marketing, Watsons Malaysia and celebrity master chef winner Dato’ Fazley Yaakob.

We really enjoyed this Raya with Watsons that was well planned and held a a beautiful place…we enjoyed the great food served by Subak Dining and most important there was coffee present.
