Dining With Roses From Corelle

As a full time working mum, I hardly get to sit down for a meal with my family and kids for lunch. Generally, at the office, a bunch of us sit on the Range of Bar Stools allotted near the island counter of the cafeteria, so dinner with my kids becomes the most important meal we have together daily. This is the time we can update each other on our day, and my boys and I have this question we ask each other every day without fail, which is What makes you happy today? Sometimes, we also ask What makes you sad today? and I am always surprised with the stories my boys will tell me that I normally won’t get a chance to know about.

Usually, once we reach home, I’d prepare our dinner and Josiah would help set the table. We like to have our dinner early before 7pm as it is healthier this way.

Recently, I received the latest Corelle’s dinner plates and a casserole from Corningware for my review. I’m so excited because I’ve known about Corelle and Corningware since I was a kid as my mum would use them to cook and the plates would be kept for special occasions.  For those of you who are not in the scene, Corelle and Corningware are under the World Kitchen umbrella, an American kitchenware products maker and distributor. Corelle is their leading dishware while Corningware is their cookware line. Today, more than 140 different Corelle patterns are available in Malaysia, many specifically designed to meet the growing Asian taste and demands. As part of their 45th anniversary this year, Corelle celebrates its long lasting beauty and durability.

Earlier this month, the Corelle unveiled their brand new collection, perfectly named Rosabelle. Its name is inspired by French words, Rosa meaning Rose and Belle meaning beautiful, and is great to combine with the best antique furniture that people can find in this page for their homes.

Here are a couple of up-close shots of the product. The designed rose pattern looks very lifelike due to its reflective pinkish petal. If you look closely there is an orange coloured rose, based on the real-life flower, Apricot rose.

The design is really pretty and gives a feel of Victorian times. Imagine setting up your table with a vase of pink roses to compliment the dining ware, how lovely your dinner will be.

The most important feature for me about Corelle plates is not just the design but the technology behind it. Corelle plates are all break and chip proof. This is due to the use of Vitrelle®, a remarkable three-layer sandwich of thermally laminated glass. That’s why it is so long lasting, and I don’t have to be afraid to let Josiah set the table and risk breaking my plates. I also love how thin it is, so it doesn’t take up much space when stacked, and it’s super light as well.

My mum’s Corningware still looked like new after so many years of usage, she’s still using it to cook now. Cooking with Corelle and Corningware is a breeze because it can be used on the stove, in the oven or in the microwave, and it’s also freezer safe. You can store your food in it and take it straight from freezer to oven to reheat, saves a lot of hassle of moving the food around. Plus, it’s not plastic so there’s no fear of BPA leeching into your food.

I love the Rosabelle Corelle set so much, we’re already using it every evening for dinner, and I am not exaggerating when I say food actually tastes better in them.

It feels like home when we dine with the Corelle dining ware and my hubby who always help with washing the dishes certainly have no complaints now as they are stain proof, light and easy to stack in the dish rack.

I love to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea after my meals and the little tea cup is perfect for my time alone sipping tea and reflecting on my day. A long time ago, I had a Korean friend who used her special tea cups whenever I went over to her house, and she told me that drinking tea from her special tea cup always taste better than normal cups, I can truly say I believe her now. You can find this set #Rosabelle and many other designs by just visiting Aeon Department stores.

The Corelle Rosabelle 16 piece set is priced at RM729 and the Corningware Rosabelle 6 piece Casserole Set (1L, 1.5L & 3L) is priced at RM629. Don’t forget to LIKE and follow World Kitchen on Facebook for product updates, promos, and tips on cooking and kitchenware care. #CorelleMalaysia
