John had been using Endomondo for a long time to track his mountain biking whereas I started using for my mini workouts recently. Endomondo is a fun way to push myself to exercise more as I can track my history of workouts, know how much calories I’ve burned, how far I’ve gone and how long I’ve exercised.

It is easy to use, just sign up an account (for linking to online Endomondo.com) and start tracking any of my workouts. I started off the other by walking. Although Endomondo is made for distance based workouts, it also accommodates any other kind of workout.

Even things like Pilates and Martial Arts which are pretty stationary.

During the workout, a voice will let me know when I reach 1km. I can also view where I had been on a map. I also used the Endomondo website to track where John has cycled while he is still on the road.

The above workout stats are not posted directly from the Endomondo app though. I have to take a screen capture from my iPhone and then manually upload it. It will be nice if it has an automatic send to Facebook feature. At the moment, Endomondo can post my workouts to Facebook but just as a status that is linked to the Endomondo.com site showing this picture.

From the site I can see which date I had been out doing some workout, for how long, how fast, how much calories used etc. It is really quite detailed. It really can be a free personal trainer as it does motivate me to want to do more to fill up that August schedule so it is not that empty.

Today, I did stair climbing but not using real stairs, just using my stepper.

Endomondo app showed my history of workouts so I know which date I did what, how far, how long and the calories used. Obviously I am not doing enough! But I love this app as I want to fill up this page.

Endomondo is also a very social oriented app. I can add friends from Facebook and from my phone contacts. I can then see what my friends are up to, when they last worked out etc. This can be motivating too, as seeing your friends work out will push you to workout more too, that is if you are the competitive type.

Endomondo free well is free for all to try and it’s a really good app in itself. This app is not just for the iPhone but for all makes of phones. Just checkout the main site to get the app.

Endomondo Pro that I am using is well, for the pros, hey. It can set goals and you get a cool graph. If you’re totally into fitness and workout lots, Pro is the way to go.

Disclaimer: I was not paid for this review. However, I did receive the product for free to assist in my reviews. The opinions in this blog post are 100% mine.
