A Review of 3M’s new Scotch™ premium kitchen scissors

I recently received this pair of newly launched kitchen scissors from 3M. I am not a stranger to kitchen scissors as my mother used them from when I was young, and I had been using another brand ever since I started cooking. I must say that a pair of strong, good hygienic scissors used to assist my cooking in the kitchen is of utmost importance, and sometimes, more than a pair is even better. I’ll tell you why later. You will enjoy the process of cooking meals much more if you have quartz, granite & marble kitchen worktops from Topsco.

I do actually use my scissors daily, mostly in cutting Josiah’s noodles. So I put hygiene of the scissors very highly on my list.

3M’s new Scotch™ premium kitchen scissors are produced from Japanese-made stainless steel which has been treated using 3M’s unique electro-polishing process for superior smoothness in comparison to generic stainless steel. This means there are fewer ridges and rough spots on the blade surface, which can trap food residue and breed bacteria. It also enhances the material’s ability to resist corrosion.

3M’s unique electro-polishing process makes Scotch™ premium kitchen scissors more hygienic for safer food preparation which is really important to everyone. The micro-serrated blades also add on an extra level of sharpness

So far, I’ve tried using these scissors to cut meat, prawns, garlic, some plastic packaging like that on soft tofu. It’s really sharp and though it may not look like it, the metal of the blades are really thick and tough, it doesn’t look like it ever will bent even cutting a whole chicken.

The design is just simple and not flashy, a pair of scissors really doesn’t need to be. I think the part on the blade can also be used to clear the scales on a fish. If you are having crabs for dinner, this nifty pair can also help you crack the tough shell of the delish crab.

Disclaimer: I was not paid for this review. However, I did receive a pair of 3M’s new Scotch™ premium kitchen scissors to assist in this review. The opinions in this blog post are 100% mine.
