I admit that this is not a photoshop animated gif tutorial, but this is an app review of Flixel, the app that can automatically bring your photos to life, that’s their motto anyways. Flixel is definitely a worthy mention in the world of creative digital photography. With proper use, Flixel can make your photos very unique.
How it works is, your first use the app to take a 2 second photo, it’s got to be of something that is moving. Like a moving train, a ticking clock, flowers that are shaken by the wind, etc. It’s only 2 seconds remember. After taking the photos, the app will ask you to use your fingers to ‘clear’ the area that you want to animate while the areas not cleared will remain like a photo without movement. Once done, your photo is automatically uploaded to Flixel’s own social media platform for all Flixel users to see. At same time, you can choose to share it in your Twitter or Facebook. It works pretty much like Instagram where you can see other people’s photos and like or comment on it. Somehow it is not as addictive and simple to use as Instagram of course, coz you have to only take pics of moving things.
Oh ya I admit it’s nothing awesome. Go check out Flixel’s site for greater examples. I forgot to do one of a waterfall when I saw one recently. This is definitely the easiest way to do an animated gif for all those who do not know how to do a photoshop animated gif, which takes more effort. Download your app in the appstore today.
