I’m pregnant!

Last week, after missing my period for 3 days, I decided to take the home test. This time, there were no obvious symptoms, but just a feeling, plus the fact that my period is never late. It had been 5 months since we started trying for a 2nd baby. So I tested and initially, there was no 2nd line. I thought oh well, next time. But I left the dip stick in there for a longer while and suddenly the 2nd line appeared. Again this felt like an unbelievable feeling. I checked on my iPhone app to see how long I’ve been pregnant, well it’s only 4 weeks. The first time round I only realised at 6 weeks and saw the gynae at 7 weeks. Now at 5 weeks, I have this ‘can’t wait to see the gynae’ feeling, but it’s kinda too early. We’re planning to only visit him at around 8 weeks. That’s another 3 weeks to go! So I decided to add on a Maternity milk, and bought the Anmum Materna. Nowadays they have the low fat version of maternity milk. 3 years ago, I gained like 20kg from drinking 2 glasses of these milk daily, oh well, and also eating like mad. This time round, I am still overweight from my first pregnancy, I never managed to lose all the weight. So now I don’t have the liberty to eat like mad as I am only allowed to gain a max of 11kg. So I gotta watch my diet lots. Well at only 5 weeks, I already gained 1Kg. I suspect it’s all the water weight as I do feel extra bloated. No wonder for the last few weeks, so many people has approached me and asked if I put on weight, one person even asked if I was pregnant. Of course, at that time I didn’t know it yet. And I unknowingly drank coffee, tea, and ate raw seafood all that time!

I’m feeling a little less shocked and more confident this time round, knowing what to expect mostly. Nevertheless, we are praying hard that it will be a good pregnancy with no morning sickness, craving of any kind, if it’s the same as with Josiah, I’d be happy already. There are less things to buy and get ready as well as we already have most things. We’ve shared the news with Josiah, and he seemed to be taking it well. He’s asking for a sister! Well, only God knows at this stage.
