Recently I realised that online grocery shopping has finally arrived in Malaysia. More and more people are getting so busy that they can’t even drive to the nearest grocer to get their daily goods anymore. I love going to malls, and we go to one nearly every night, sometimes just to take a walk and make Josiah run around to use up his energy to ensure a good night’s sleep. Then I found this company called Doorstep that is an online grocery store and it delivers to Kajang. I found that most of the goods listed on the site are actually cheaper than those found in our conventional hypermarkets. For eg, I wanted to buy Heinz Juice, and at all stores, the price is RM3.29 and above. However on Doorstep, it is only RM2.99. If you shop more than RM50, delivery is free and right to the doorstep.
I gave Doorstep a try and ordered lots of juice and jelly for Josiah who seemed to be having constipation recently. I wanted the delivery people to arrive at my office before I leave, but they did not make it coz they had a mix up of the address. Well, it turned out to be a good thing, becoz a few hours later, they diverted and delivered my order to my house instead. They do not use plastic bags apparently, which is a good thing. My jars of juice was just stacked up in a basket, and I had to take it into my kitchen, arrange it there and return the basket. Imagine what a headache it would be if it was delivered to my office instead. The delivery hours are up till late, so it’s really quite convenient for working people.
The order came in their nice van with their brand name and all, and the delivery guys were really friendly as well. Payment can me made COD so that is good as well. If I was really so busy that I can’t go out. I think this would be the perfect service.
