Living it up!

Food up North! Part 1 - Kampar

Last weekend, we made a trip up north to Penang and stopped by Kampar, Perak, then to Penang, and then on the way back to Ipoh. What’s most famous in these places??? FOOD What else!

This is found in Kampar, Pakis with Sotong. I love this as the Pakis really reminded me of Midin back in Sarawak, my favourite kind of vege. How nice, my fave vege is found freely crawling and growing in the jungles of Borneo.

This is chicken shredded Hor Fun, or Kai Xi Hor Fun, or also same as Ipoh Hor Fun. Due to baby being extremely fussy at that coffee shop which was extremely hot, we couldn’t really sit down and enjoy this dish, which was fantabulous by the way. The chicken meat was real juicy and big piece, and the kueh tiaw (hor fun) smooth and silky!

Kampar also has really good beef noodle soup.

The noodle is like Wantan mee noodle served separate from the soup, but it is really good! Really reminded me of Kuching’s Beef noodle which I so missed. Sigh…

Ps Nicky says, ” Sigh, no wonder I’m ‘prosperous’, I’m in the land of glorious food everywhere!”
