As I was browsing Technorati this morning, I realised Chua Soi Lek made it to Technorati’s Top Searches where it is usually relegated to infamous superstars, hot babes, sports figures, techy terms, and now Malaysia’s ex-politician turned public humiliation. What a piece of news to put the name of Malaysia on the world map. Like a joke. A joke it is, as Malaysians had since the day the news broke, started joking behind the supposed best health minister’s back. Just a few seconds ago, I received an sms forward that says: New Sign on DUREX Condom package: HEALTH MINISTER’S Warning: Please Look For Hidden Cameras before Using This Product Yeah we laugh at it all, but I pity the family most of all, what a humiliation they have to go through. What’s worse was the lack of remorse by the person over what happened. He was more remorseful of being caught rather than for what he actually did, which was breaking of a vow, adultery, unfaithfulness, etc. etc. so much more. And what a reputation the next Health Minister has to step into, all the more the public will be watching his every move and action. The name of Malaysia is certainly not the same anymore.
