Paypal withdrawal

I was one of those that paid USD3 to get that ebook about how to withdraw from your Paypal account for Malaysians. There were a few steps in that book but thank God I never tried them out as you need to pay quite a bit.

I had been using my Paypal funds for all kinds of online purchases to make up for the inability to withdraw it, but now that the service is finally here, I’m really excited that I can finally see the USD turn to cash in Ringgit.

I tried adding my Alliance Ikea Debit Card, but it’s not acceptable. So this afternoon, I dropped by Public Bank to apply for the PB Visa Electron Card, being the only Debit Card that was successfully used by other bloggers for their Paypal withdrawals. I must say, the service is nothing to shout about, and it’s called the Customer Service Counter?? Anyways, the application is pretty simple, you don’t really need your PB Savings Book if you don’t intend to use the Debit Card as a Debit Card, for shopping and stuff. For me, I’m using it purely for Paypal withdrawals, so it’s money in and out. The application fee of RM24 per year is waived for the first year. The card is actually Free for Life apparently, if you would use swipe up to RM1201 above a year, making that about RM100 a month. Quite achievable I guess.

So now I have wait up to 2-3 weeks for the card to arrive. Anyone withdrawn successfully so far?

  1. You mentioned in LiewCF’s web site that there’s a 5 time limit imposed. Who’s imposing this—PayPal, or the card issuing bank? As far as I have read in PayPal web site via Ebay (http://pages.ebay.com.sg/sea/paypal/withdraw.html), they only impose an amount limit and not transaction limit. It would be good if you have a link to support this, otherwise it’s safe to say that you can withdraw as many times as you like under the $500/day limit.

  2. Hey Lorna, I’m sorry, I guess I misunderstood the Credit or Debit Card Acceptance Limit, under View Limits as the limited amount of times you can withdraw. Thanks for making me aware of that …

  3. You are going to be one lucky lady, because someone did successfully transferred his funds into his PB debit card. I’m getting mine soon. Just make sure you make a few transactions and not register the card straight with PayPal, otherwise when you do a withdrawal, PayPal will limit your account and ask for supporting documents to be faxed. I read it in an eBay Malaysia forum recently.

  4. Latest updates: I spoke to my friend yesterday and he said due to the bank policy, Public Bank debit card is not accepting any top up from foreign fund. Better check out the foreign banks like HSBC, Citibank, etc…

  5. I’ve heard of this method where you open up an account in Singapore to withdraw PayPal monies, and then have them transferred back via online banking into your Malaysian account.

I can imagine that there’s going to be a lot of 3rd party charges… lol!
