In fact, do a search in Google and you will find lots of forum users asking for charitable people to invite them. Today, a fellow yahoo groupie blogger bloke put up a special request for somebody to urgently invite him. I decided to write to the Gmail Team to enquire on this issue, whether it was true or just some people’s wild imaginations. Here’s the reply:
IF you’re a Gmail user and you are able to invite, do let us know. 
I think only blogger.com members who got Gmail can invite others.

i think they randomly gives it out…i have a gmail account (courtesy of pick yin) and i don’t use it (don’t need it since my vps can hold 6 gb) but when i got it, i registered it as sixthseal. i need another one for a friend though. anyway, if you get an invite, would appreciate you sending one my way. thanks!
I got a link in my Gmail Inbox saying I can invite 2 pp about 2-3 weeks ago. In case you’re wondering, I’ve already invited 2 friends, so no more invites! Sorry..

Killuminati, Gmail’s invites through Blogger are given to bloggers who are active in the past few months. If anybody here has an old blog but hasn’t receive the Gmail invite yet, don’t worry. I hear they giving out Gmail invites on Blogger again.

Hey, as I understand it you are supposed to get like 10 invites when you sign up for an account-I don’t know how those invites are given and recieved but if you (once you figure out how) where to invite me I could give you all of the invites I in turn recieve for you to do with as you please. (essentially getting an additional 9 invites for nothing)

No, Gmail invites were given to any Blogger user regardless of race or nationality, I know coz I’m not American, and I got it. However, it was only for those who’s used Blogger for a long time, randomly that is. Those who just sign up after the news won’t be getting it.

anyone else on gmail having problems ?
gmail is fine on adsl, but on my 3g card i can surf net no problem, talk on google talk no problem, but i cannot reply to any gmail mail. also cannot compose and send attachments. can recieve mail fine.
thought it was my beta firefox im using so tried IE but still same problem.
sometimes can reply to a mail but not always, especially if there is an attachment in it…
but gmail is fine on adsl so i know its not gmail themselves. 2 friends have also complained about their gmail on 3g today..
i have not used 3g before, but i can’t used gmail on mobile wap. just wouldn’t log in. anyways, i do constantly have problems with gmail especially regarding attachments, even on adsl.
