I was just walking by First World Hotel new lobby in Tower 3 when I saw this beautiful work of art. Then I noticed that the whole lobby is covered in beautiful art. Then I realised that there is an art exhibition going on until 31 March 2016. The whole of Genting Highlands is usually pretty crammed and full of people, but the lobby of Tower 3 is serenely peaceful, so it makes great sense that they decided to use the lobby as an art gallery. The most amazing this is, the art are not produced by highly acclaimed professional artists. These are art by children as young as 1 years old.
The piece above was produced by a child as young as my youngest son who is not even 4 years old. Quite amazing if you ask me.
There are other more childlike art work and equally beautiful and expressive, art that only children can produce. This exhibition actually features 25 talented artists from Sweden, Indonesia, Qatar, Japan, the Philippines and Malaysia. Themed “Everyone Can Paint, Paint from Our Heart,†this exhibition is seriously the first every such event to be held in First World Hotel, the world’s largest hotel with its record 7,351 rooms.
Josiah was so impressed with the art that it gave him a renewed vision to draw more and to display his art in our own art exhibition at home. The artists featured: Astrid Bokstrom (from Sweden), Cynthia Darman (Indonesia), Julia Fransesca Groenenboom (Qatar), Kousaku Umeda (Japan), Lydia Darman (Indonesia), Richard Leosala (the Philippines) and Yuusaku Umeda (Japan).
The Malaysian artists featured are Delaney Ng, Emmanuel Cheun, Jared Ng, Lim Cheng Yuan, Lim Cheng Zhao, Lim Hui Wern, Sam Kaylene, Soo Sze May, Soo Paye Kean, Stuart Ng, Wee Zhong Ren, Wee Zhong Shin, Yap Hao Yu, Yap Yi Wee, Yung Mu Jein, Zachary Ng and Zoey Ng.

Arts is universal and very subjective plus individual. How I interprete a piece of art may be different from others.
We need more platforms to showcase local talents, good job First World Hotel 🙂
